Emerald Cities Collaborative’s E-Contractor Academy is a FREE weekly workshop series that builds technical, financial and operational capacity with small minority/BIPOC, women, veteran-owned and/or disadvantaged (MWVDBE) construction businesses to successfully do business in climate-critical decarbonization fields such as building electrification, energy efficiency and renewable energy. Participants receive training, business support, and connect to project opportunities in the Bay Area.

This is an in-person event series (no virtual attendance).

$1,500 Grant for Business Suport

After completion of the E-Contractor Academy, ECC will award a $1,500 grant to participants to utilize for their business needs*. Participants can make short term investments in areas such as:

  • Book-keeping
  • Marketing
  • Estimating
  • Software

*To be eligible for grant, participants must attend all sessions and complete required documentation.

Who Should Attend?

Priority will be given to firms with the following characteristics:

  • Licensed contractors in or seeking to expand into electrical, plumbing, and HVAC trades
  • MWVDBEs: Minority/BIPOC-owned, Women-owned, Veteran-owned and/or Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (certification not required)
  • Business revenue $100K - $3M
  • Project scopes up to $1M
  • Owners seeking to grow their decarb business!
